I'm making the impossible, possible, by taking part in Australia's Walk & Jog Challenge to raise much needed funds for dementia research.
I'm taking part in Australia's Walk & Jog Challenge in honor of my beautiful Dad, Bill, who bravely battled dementia and sadly passed away last November.
My Dad, affectionately know as “Boo”, was a brilliant, educated man—someone who never stopped learning. He could fix anything, explain everything, and always had a book in his hand or an idea in his mind. He taught me the value of knowledge, hard work, and curiosity. To see a mind like his slowly stolen by dementia was nothing short of heartbreaking.
Dementia does not discriminate. It strips away memories, independence, and identity—regardless of how intelligent, strong, or capable someone once was. Watching my dear Dad change before our eyes was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced. It’s a cruel disease, and we need to fight it with everything we’ve got.
That’s why I’m walking with my childhood friend Janna —to honor him, to raise awareness, and to help fund the vital research needed to find better treatments, earlier diagnoses, and one day, a cure.
Please consider supporting my efforts with a donation. Every dollar helps the Dementia Australia Research Foundation continue their work.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
He was a great man 🫶
