My why
I’m taking part in this walk and jog challenge for a cause that means more to me than I can put into words. Dementia has touched my family in the most painful way, with both my stepfather and my mother-in-law living through it. Watching the people you love slowly lose pieces of themselves their memories, their independence, their sense of who they are is something that stays with you.
This isn’t just a challenge for me. Every step I take carries love, grief, and hope. Love for who they are and who they’ve always been.
My hope is that one day, families won’t have to go through this.
I’m doing this to raise awareness, to support research, and to stand alongside every family facing dementia. If you’re able to support, share, or simply follow along, it would truly mean the world.
Thank you for helping me turn something so personal into something that might make a difference.
Love Michelle
I'm making the impossible, possible, by taking part in Australia's Walk & Jog Challenge to raise much needed funds for dementia research.
I’m taking part in Australia's Walk & Jog Challenge by committing to raise much needed funds to support people impacted by dementia.
But I need your help! Please make a donation to support my efforts and help me to make the impossible, possible.
My fundraising will help support the work of Dementia Australia Research Foundation, funding innovative Australian research into dementia causes, diagnosis, treatment and one day a cure.
Thank you for your support.

A good cause and great sister :D Hopefully a cure can be discovered and one day people will only learn about this terrible sickness in a history book.

Go you, Michelle. Your description of dementia and its effect on you as a result of its effect on your loved ones is thoughtful, beautifully written and very moving. I applaud your mission and the rationale behind it.
