Walking with Mum & Dad Beside Me 🌹
Over the two weeks, this challenge became so much more than simply walking kilometres or reaching a fundraising goal. It became a journey of reflection, healing, gratitude, and love — one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
There were moments when I walked in the rain, in the cold, and even in the dark, but somehow I never felt alone. With every step I took, I felt Mum and Dad’s presence beside me, protecting me and giving me the strength to keep going.
If there’s one thing my Mum taught me in life, it’s DETERMINATION — where there’s a will, there’s a way 💪 That is something I will proudly pass down to my sweet grandson Sully Lung.
The impact dementia had on both my parents was cruel, and watching them fade a little more each time I returned home was heartbreaking, especially in the final stages when they could no longer recognise me. It reminded me why I started this journey in the first place — to raise awareness, fund research, and support those affected by this illness.
To everyone who donated, supported, encouraged, or simply checked in on me throughout this challenge — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every message, donation, and word of encouragement motivated me to keep going. Your kindness and generosity helped me raise over $2,400 and reminded me that together, we really can make a difference.

In Loving Memory of my Mum and Dad ♥️♥️
Hi,
This year, I’m participating in Australia’s Walk & Jog Challenge to raise funds for dementia research and support families affected by dementia. In loving memory of my Mum and Dad, who both had dementia, I have committed to walking and jogging a total of 60 km between 4 and 17 May.
Watching the people you love slowly fade is one of life’s hardest experiences. Dementia not only impacts those diagnosed, but also the families and carers who walk beside them every step of the way.
In previous years, I have volunteered at the Walk & Jog events, but this year I wanted to participate in the challenge to honour my parents, as this cause is close to my heart.
Your support will be greatly appreciated. Every donation, big or small, helps fund vital research, raise awareness, and provide support to families walking this difficult journey. Together, we can make a difference.
