Peter Augustus - the one and only

As many of you know, my Dad has always been a larger-than-life presence. The loudest and most jovial (and most embarrassing) father at parent teacher interviews, a teller of tall tales (used as excuses for his pathological tardiness), an inveterate traveller and party-lover and a bow-tie wearing PR man who could walk into a room not knowing anyone, but within minutes he would be introducing people to each other, making connections and creating a community. 
He adores his big family and always gave us kids the freedom to follow our dreams and eclectic careers. 
In recent years the mighty and complicated man has been laid low by a nasty combination of Dementia and Alzheimers. The majority of the time he is lost, confusing or forgetting his family and swept up by moments past. Sometimes the exchanges are poignant and beautiful, sometimes they are absolutely hilarious. Other times they are downright horrible. Dementia totally sucks and it's unlikely this fundraising will make a difference to Dad, but if it can help future families then I'm up for it!
