I'm taking part in Australia's Walk & Jog Challenge to raise much needed funds for dementia research.

Dementia Facts and Figures:

* In 2026 there are an estimated 446,500 Australians living with dementia

* An estimated 1,500 children live with childhood dementia in Australia

* 54% of people living in permanent residential aged care have dementia

* The average diagnosis timeframe from initial onset of symptoms is around 3 years for all types of dementia. For people living with young onset dementia, it is closer to 5 years
